ABOUT

Hello and Welcome

My name is Lesley and I'm the Company Director of Paws Up Academy Ltd.

Through Paws Up Academy Ltd I provide a fully insured, experienced, local, friendly, highly qualified & professional Dog Training service in Frinton on Sea and surrounding areas.

From Puppies to Seniors, most domestic breeds will be considered.

I come to you to train with you & your dog 1 on 1 starting in your home or local, low distraction environment, moving to the higher distraction environment of the big wide world only if & when your dog is ready.

I train using the Positive Reinforcement model which means I do not use pain, force or fear in my teaching methodology. This also means that I invest time to help your dog make the right choices for themselves & for you to reward desired behaviour.

I am the proud caregiver to a mature Siberian Husky and a mature Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed cross.

Before getting my first puppy 8 years ago I worked in the Banking Industry for 24 years where I trained people in skills relevant to that industry. I strongly believe that people training is a very important aspect in achieving a successful relationship with your dog.

*The Victoria Stilwell Academy is the world's premier institution for professional dog trainer education founded by renowned dog behaviour expert Victoria Stilwell, and graduates of VSA have been individually taught in-person by Stilwell and other VSA faculty.

All VSA graduates have been rigorously assessed at the highest level for both skills and knowledge in the areas of dog training, behaviour modification, canine ethology, creative problem solving and more.

Additionally, great emphasis is placed within VSA's industry leading curriculum upon effective and empathetic human communication skills.

This unique focus results in professional dog trainers who are prepared not just to train dogs successfully using powerful force-free, positive reinforcement-based tools and techniques, but also to help dog owner clients to learn how to truly transform canine behaviour and set their dogs up for success using the latest in modern behavioural science methods.

Sponsor of the Yellow Dog UK scheme.

Yellow Dog UK aims to promote awareness and understanding of dogs who need space, also known as 'yellow dogs'. These are dogs that may be nervous, in training, recovering from an injury or illness, being rehabilitated or simply dogs that prefer to keep their distance from people and other dogs.

If you see a dog with a YELLOW ribbon, bandana or similar on the leash or on the dog, this is a dog which needs some space.
